Noteworthy Updates 8/12/09

My apologies, I am slightly delayed as I am catching up on everything I found this week that is worth reporting. It’s just that the Cash In a Flash System is ready and the first shipment is being assembled at the warehouse. You know how it goes with last minute shipments. Thanks for those who are taking advantage of the introductory (and risk free offer). I am keeping the special going until the end of the month. If you sign up and are ready to invest in a system that will get you from where you are to where you need to be – you’ll get one hour of free coaching.

Also please be reminded that the next free call with Jerry Tavin is scheduled on August 18th. Please sign up here. As always calls are recorded and a link will be distributed the following day. It’s best to be on a call live. Why? Because you can ask questions and pick Jerry’s and my brain with your specific questions.

Post One

Catching up with Rob from A Photo Editor. He reported on his blog the time lapse movie of photographer Peter Belanger about a still life shoot for MacWorld Cover. You guys have already seen James Burger’s Intro-Duck-Tion so something tells me this is a thing catching on.Very effective for self promotion.

Post Two

Also found on A Photo Editor a Wall Street Journal piece about Vibe magazine and its website acquisition. Apparently they are planning to relaunch it so we don’t have to get our hankies out quite yet and cry over the loss of yet another magazine.

Post Three

After watching a 60 Minute special on Woodstock I am intrigued about finding out more. This Saturday on August 15th is an exhibit in Venice, CA, at 7PM at the Duncan Miller Gallery in Venice. Click on the image for more info.

“Woodstock: The 40th Anniversary” a photographic exhibition. Featuring the works of Jim Marshall, Baron Wolman, Henry Diltz and Lisa Law, this show recreates the experience of the crowd, the ambiance and the music of the world’s most famous music festival.

Picture 2Just read on Selling Stock an article about the Issuu Website where you’ll find everything you need to know about publishing a PDF, PowerPoint or Word doc so it looks and feels like a magazine. Author Jim Pickerell mentions that if you do a search for Photography you find another 3008 examples. Now here is an idea for your self promotion! Definitely worth checking it out and think about what clever things you can do with it. There is a free and a subscription solution which is only $19 a month. Send me your magazine first and I might just feature it here! You can rate other photographers ideas/portfolios and it is set up to be a social media portfolio sharing service. I would love to hear some opinions on this. Other option according to the same article is Flipping Book a ‘Premium page flip flash engine” whatever that might be?

Post Five

Here is a story on gratitude that I came accross when reviewing the ASPP newsletter. Check out what photographer Gary Crabbe survived. A 40 foot fall in the middle of the night in a no-man’s land territory. It’s a great read and one that makes you thankful for what you have. Gary I am glad that you made it out in once piece and kicking and shooting again!
